Javagal Srinath @ Magma

Today, we had a celebrity guest Javagal Srinath at our office premises. He was kind enough to answer all our questions ranging from Ganguly's decline as a captain, Team India's recent uproar under Greg Chappell, his bowling idol etc.
What mystifies me still is the reason why he was here ?

Business at its best

Imagine stuck at any of the ubiquitous traffic jams on Bangalore roads and sipping a hot cup of tea while trying to kill time. Well this is what happened to me today, while I was stuck at a traffic jam on the airport road. A young boy was trying to sell hot tea to every one stuck in the jam, and surprisingly there were enough takers. Now this is what I call business at its innovative best. I wonder, if the present traffic situation continues, it may not be too far when we will be ordering pizzas delivered to our vehicles ! An interesting conversation will go on like this:

Legend -
PB: Poor Bangalorean stuck at any jam ordering a pizza
PE: Any Pizza vendor employee recieving your call.

PB: Is it pizza hut ?
PE: Yes Sir. Our records show that your vehicle no. is KA-03, MA 9999. What would you like to have today sir ?
PB: I would like to go for one large spicy Indian
PE: Sure sire. Our GPS shows that you are currently stuck at Airport Road, and in another 25 mins, you will be struggling at M. G. Road. We will have our delivery boy wait for you at M.G. Road intersection.

On another note, please use this, if you are ever pot-holed.

Life without Televsion

Its more than 24 hrs now that I am beginning to gradually adjust to life without cable television. MSO's (Multi System Operators) switched off cable channels all over karnataka yesterday, protesting against double taxation. Televsion is so much a part and parcel of your daily life that its difficult to imagine life without it.. My wife on the other hand cant be more happier than this.. First, It made me write this blog after more than a year. .I also got to finish many of my half-done-promised-to-complete-this-weekend type jobs.. Idiot box surely makes you an idiot..
